Following a busy weekend at Dolores Park, Dolores Park Works is hosting a park clean up. If you want to help out, meet the cleanup crew at 9 a.m. at the Bi-Rite Creamery at 3692 18th Street. Volunteers will be offered a light breakfast before they head out to give Dolores some love.
City College of San Francisco generates more than $300 million in economic activity every year, according to a report recently released. That’s why it would be a heavy blow to the city’s economy if the college shut down. Supervisor Eric Mar uses the report to emphasize the importance of saving the school in an op-ed in the San Francisco Examiner.
A real-life superhero is trying to make a difference in the Mission by picking up one used needle at a time, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Rock N Roll, also known as Roxanne Cai, co-founded the local branch of “The Initiative” —a group of people often dressed as comic-book-style crime-fighters, looking for ways to make cities better. Over the past two years, the group has picked up nearly 3,200 needles while distributing granola bars, clean socks and water to the homeless.
