English novelist and John Ruskin once wrote in the late 1800s: “Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up, snow is exhilarating; there is really no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather.” Whimsical, sure; but realistic? Not with the erratic, weather patterns of USA, circa 2013. In fact — when considering Mother Nature’s caustic chain of events just over the last year, “bad weather” is not just an understatement, but rather a term that often calls for national concern.
