It will warm up today to a high of 71° and partly cloudy.
El Tecolote has published a story on the experience of Mission resident Sandra Cuadra, who said she and her family were turned away from a local restaurant several weeks ago, Cuadra suspected because she is Latino. Cuadra reported the incident to Supervisor David Campos, who is referring it to the Human Rights Charter, the newspaper reports. The owner of the restaurant, Local’s Corner has said that the family was not turned away because of their race.
In other news, an interior designer’s home that he has lived in and worked on since 1993, is now on the market in the Mission for $1.149 million, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. The house is near Bryant and 19th Streets, and there will be an open house on Sunday.
Today is Mother’s Day. The Chronicle’s “Mommy Files” blog is featuring readers’ photos of mothers and daughters here. SF Weekly’s foodie round-up for Mother’s Day features a couple of spots in the Mission; read about them here.

If you read a little further in El Tecolote you will find this response from the restaurant owner, and a comment from someone who was included on the original e-mail exchange between the owner, the family, and community leaders. http://eltecolote.org/content/2013/05/owner-of-mission-eatery-responds-to-controversy/
It fills in some of the details missing from the original story you are highlighting here, and suggests there was some resolution to this.
