Two new seismically safe hospitals will soon be coming to San Francisco, one of which will be in the Mission. San Francisco officials and California Pacific Medical Center agreed to a deal that will expand the capacity of a rebuilt St. Luke’s Hospital from 80 to 120 beds, according to the Chronicle.

San Franciscans living in poverty will soon have access to cell phones. As part of the federally funded Lifeline effort, two companies will offer free cell phones and service to people who earn less than $14,702 a year, reports the Chronicle.

And San Francisco may soon be putting limits on gun owners. The Examiner reports that a ban on certain extra-lethal ammo is expected to pass the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, though any such legislation will face legal challenges before it can go into effect.
