City Attorney Dennis Herrera announced Friday that he would be going after more than 50 restaurants that allegedly pocketed money meant to go toward city-mandated health care for workers. Charging diners extra fees to cover the costs, restaurant owners have allegedly made from a few dollars to thousands of dollars. The LA Times reports that a bipartisan group of senators plan to publicly release a proposal today for their plan to grant legal status to most of the estimated 11 million illegal immigrants in the United States.

“Fruitvale,” a drama based on the 2009 shooting of Oscar Grant in Oakland, won the Sundance Film Festival’s top prize on Saturday night. “This will not be the last time you guys walk to the podium,” said Tom Rothman, the former chairman of 20th Century Fox, as he presented the prize.
