Sera Cahoone visits Brick and Mortar tomorrow night, celebrating the release of her new album, “Deer Creek Canyon,” on Sub Pop records.

Cahoone’s music packs a subdued punch. Her lyrics and instrumentation are spare and at times haunting, even with a full band. Her songs are a reminder that for some musicians it’s not the notes but the spaces between them that matter — the negative space that says so much without saying anything at all.
