It’s the middle of November, but that isn’t stopping the San Francisco SPCA from filling the windows at Macy’s Union Square with cute, adoptable animals as part of its annual Holiday Windows campaign. The window display will be unveiled today at 5 p.m., with former Mayor Willie Brown and 49ers running back LaMichael James showing up for support.
Last year Holiday Windows led to more than 325 animal adoptions, according to the SPCA, and raised nearly $80,000 for the organization. The animals on display will also be live-streamed at sfspca.org/holiday.
Ever year the holiday season begins earlier, creeping its way past Thanksgiving and into October. Within the next decade, the “holiday” season will surely begin around the Fourth of July. It’s still the middle of November, and many of us haven’t even figured out our Thanksgiving plans yet. But hey, these animals need homes, so we’re going to let this one slide.
Let us know at email@example.com if you find your new best friend this holiday season via the window displays. We’d love to hear your story.
