The man shot early Tuesday morning at 20th Street and South Van Ness Avenue has been identified by the medical examiner’s office as 28-year-old Jose Matias-Aguilon, a San Francisco resident.

Police apprehended two suspects following the shooting. Sterling Samm, 20, and a 14-year-old boy were arrested on murder charges, according to police. Read more about the shooting here.

On Tuesday night, Mission Police Capt. Robert Moser told residents that the shooting happened during a robbery.

  1. Who is Sterling Samm? Why were he and the 14 year old “boy” in my neighborhood? Where were they fleeing when apprehended? Why did they need Mr. Matias-Aguilon’s money so badly that they were willing to kill for it?
