Early Friday morning, a 27-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint on Shotwell near 23rd Street, police said.
The suspect, described as a man between the ages of 20 and 22, approached the victim brandishing a gun. He demanded her property, which she handed over immediately. He then fled with her purse, which contained her wallet, phone and some cash.

Dude! Robbery at 4:30 PM and it is not daylight savings yet! WTF?
We needs to carry bear mace, they sell it at REI, no questions asked, no forms to sign.
Way to be passive-aggressive and super lame ^
I don’t think a single day has gone by without a mugging in the Mission.
Oh we’ll… Welcome To La Mission… obviously not very HIPSTER FRIENDLY….
Oye Hyna, I’m guessing from your Facebook cover photo that you rep the norteños (or at least want people to believe that you do). I’m also guessing that you want all the “hipsters” out because the Mission is “your” land. I actually wouldn’t be surprised if you knew a man or two who robbed someone in their time.
Is that what you really want in your neighborhood, though? People robbing other people, kicking women on the street and running off with the money they worked hard for? I understand you might have grown up around that and it’s more “normal,” but take a step back and really ask yourself if that’s what you want to be glorifying on the Internet as what your neighborhood is about.
The hipsters and the yuppies are moving in, and jacking up prices. I get it–it sucks. I’m Latino, grew up working class, and don’t want to have to put up with privileged kids moving in with daddy’s money to pay 2k/month for an apartment. However, I also worked hard since I was a little kid to get myself a little money, and I don’t want to worry about some vato with a gun jacking me before the sun goes down because that’s how he gets his paper.
You’re not going to kick the hipsters out. They’re going to stay. Scaring them out isn’t going to work. Either you’re going to have to learn how to live side-by-side, or they’re going to get fed up with the crime and buy you out of the neighborhood. Where you going to go then?
Supervisor Campos,
Two more muggings in the Mission. Looking forward to your updates on taxing businesses for the arts and free rides for youths on MUNI. I would go to community meetings about these events but would probably be held-up at gunpoint on my way there. Thanks for keeping the Mission unsafe for everyone!
