A 29-year-old man was arrested Tuesday morning in connection with a bank robbery at 16th and Mission streets.

Police said that at 9:34 a.m. on Tuesday a man walked up to a counter at the bank and showed a note to the teller. When the manager approached, the suspect grabbed the note and fled.

He was later taken into custody.

A 39-year-old man was seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident shortly before 1 a.m. on Wednesday.

The victim was walking across Market Street near Church when he was hit head-on by a vehicle. The driver then fled northbound on Sanchez Street, according to police.

No description of the car is available. The victim suffered head injuries and his condition is life-threatening.
