Bacon experts, today might just be your day to shine! The Bacon Takedown is happening at Public Works today from 2 to 4 p.m.

Each team of local home cooks gets 15 pounds of Hormel Black Label Bacon. Here are photos from last year’s competition.

And before you head out for the bacon event, why not start with brunch from Pal’s Takeaway? They’re launching their brunch menu today. Here’s what you can expect:

– Ham and eggs: Hapa Ramen coffee-smoked ham, Acme pan de mie with warm egg “salad” gruyere, heirloom lettuces, balsamic mayo
– Smoked trout and eggs: Acme pain de mie, miti crema cheese, pickled cucumber, pea shoots, horseradish dressing, Blue Heron spinach leaves
– Vegetarian egg “salad,” avocado, pea shoots, roasted red pepper, cucumber, a little mayo
– Nutella and fresh berries and nectarines on pan de mie with Ahmed’s rooftop honey drizzle
– Greek yogurt summer fruit burst cup with summer fruit, honey drizzle, grated pistachio

Enjoy your Sunday!
