An Uptown Almanac writer was at Zeitgeist Saturday when a car crashed into a bike rack outside and hit a bystander.
“A car just plowed through the bike rack at Zeitgeist and hit a person. Bike parts everywhere. At least everyone got drink tickets as emotional compensation.”
The person suffered a broken leg and more than 30 bikes were destroyed.

i can’t believe the human being who has multiple compound fractures in his leg barely gets mentioned and all these spoiled brat hipsters think about is their stupid vintage fixies. materialistic and pathetic. there is a man who will never walk the same again, can’t work or pay his bills and could have lost his life to a drunk driver. who gives a damn about some stupid bikes?
My cousin’s 1972 Colnago racing bike was one of the bike, that got destroyed. He is the shved headed fellow talking to the office on the far left.
Was the driver apprehended at least?
Yes, I was told by an employee that they fled the scene but their car caught on fire due to the bike parts stuck in it and they were busted for DUI and hit and run.
