It’s 7 a.m., 60° and headed to 66°. Clouds are in the forecast again, although they haven’t come out the last couple of days. Details for the next 10 are here.

Lots to do today!

The Whole Enchihuahua takes place at Dolores Park, with a costume contest starting at 1 p.m. Don’t miss our video from last year’s event.

Galeria de la Raza is hosting the opening reception for a new exhibit this evening. From its website: “Migrating Sexuality: Unspoken Stories of Land, Body and Sex” is a mixed media visual art exhibition and literary performance that centers the marginalized voices of Queer (Im)migrants of color in the U.S.

And we can’t forget about MAPP, when galleries, cafes, gardens and living rooms transform into spaces with art, poetry, live music and more. Check back in a couple of hours for a map, schedule and our past coverage.

Switching topics, Anthony from Mission Chinese wants to open a charitable restaurant inside the SF Food Bank’s warehouse. From his blog post:

I left the San Francisco Food Bank yesterday full of hope — we may be able to build a truly charitable restaurant, which would serve amazing food and turn all its profits toward feeding the hungry — but we need your vote to get started.

Here’s my pitch: For the last two years, Mission Chinese Food has been raising money for the Food Bank: more than $125,000 so far. But we could do even more. I’ve been sketching plans to serve food inside the Food Bank itself, in their warehouse, as a kind of a hybrid between restaurant and fundraiser.

Have fun today — you might run into us at some of the happenings!
