A man was robbed at 16th and Mission streets early Wednesday morning.

The 38-year-old man was walking and talking on his cellphone in the vicinity of 16th and Mission streets at around 1 a.m. on Wednesday when he was struck from behind with an unknown object.

The victim told police that he saw the suspect, a man, running away him immediately after. The victim then realized that his cellphone was gone.

He suffered lacerations to his arm and leg and was taken to San Francisco General Hospital.

No arrests were made.

At about 1:50 a.m. that night, a 28-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint while walking at 17th and Dolores streets.

Four suspects, who police described as 25-year-old women, approached the victim from behind, and one took out a handgun and demanded the victim’s purse. The victim took out her wallet, threw it at the suspect and ran away.

The four women ran to a dark four-door car and fled.

No arrests have been made.

  1. There have also been a lot of car break-ins around 16th and Dolores lately — lots more than usual. Any info on this Mission Local?

    1. I haven’t seen these in the crime reports SFPD sends us but will look into that.

      1. They probably mostly go unreported — I don’t think the online police report will work for car break ins

  2. Both incidents, again, within two blocks of the Police Precinct Station. Is there another Station in this city with so much crime in its immediate vicinity?
