The anniversary of San Francisco’s 1906 earthquake is April 18, and to remember it, Discovery Street Tours is leading a special tour tomorrow. It’s called San Francisco Rocks: Seismic Forces That Shaped Our City, and promises seismology facts, getting up close and personal with rocks, and a history of how San Francisco’s landscape came to be.
Even better, there are supposed to be some edible science activities along the way, including tasting a slice of a model of earth made from port wine cheese.
The tour begins at 1:30 p.m. at Dolores Park and follows a 2.5-mile loop through the hills of Dolores and Corona Heights. It will be offered again on April 25.
See the website for more info, including pricing. If you go, let us know how it was in the comments below.
