Ruben Barrera started as a dishwasher at Tra Vigne, one of Real Restaurants’ properties in St. Helena, when he was 13 years old. There he asked some co-workers to show him how to bake bread, and fell in love with baking. When his boss asked him if he was interested in working at PANoRAMA Baking Company, he agreed. That was 15 years ago.

Now he’s co-owner of PANoRAMA and helps its bakers make 20,000 loaves of bread a day.

PANoRAMA sells bread to many restaurants and hotels in the city. In the Mission, you’ll find it at Locanda, Front Porch, Local: Mission Eatery, Locavore, Cafe 78, Baby Blues BBQ, Emmy’s Spaghetti Shack, Mission Beach Cafe, Atlas Cafe, Liberties Bar, Frjtz Valencia, Gestalt and Pork Store Cafe Valencia.
