Occupy Oakland once again made headlines last night, clashing with police as an estimated one to two thousand people tried to take over the vacant Henry Kaiser Convention Center. Demonstrators threw rocks and flares, and officers shot tear gas and flash grenades to break people up. More than 100 people were arrested and some officers injured. More details here.

The Summit officially closed yesterday with a going-out dance party that looked pretty dead mid-afternoon. The coffee shop says it will resurface, but hasn’t offered any details.
