The dry winter continues. It is 44° now, heading to 66°. Here is the rest of the week.

Remember Occupy SF? Since being evicted from Justin Herman Plaza last month, the 99 percent have gone “underground.”

Most recently they’ve begun to protest in San Francisco neighborhoods affected by foreclosures. They protested in the Excelsior last week. This Saturday they plan to come to the Mission District and protest condo conversions.

Per their website:

San Francisco’s Mission District has been especially hard hit by the 1% banks preying on the 99% working class. Join Occupy SF Housing at Noon on January 14 to protest evictions of renters for condo conversions, which are being done by real estate speculators working with Wells Fargo Bank. We will demand that Wells Fargo stop all pending evictions which they are financing and to stop financing any more evictions for profit, where low & moderate income renters are evicted so affordable apartments can be converted into luxury condominiums for the wealthy. We will meet at the intersection of 16th & Mission Streets.

Switching gears to some food news: On KQED’s Forum yesterday, the owners of Ritual, Four Barrel and Blue Bottle discussed their coffee-roasting philosophies.

Dear Mom, the Mission’s new darling, got a plug on air from Ritual owner Eileen Hassi. Apparently you can get an Irish coffee made with Ritual coffee there. Can’t wait to try it.
