Carlos Guzmangarza, charged with felony counts for practicing medicine without a license, is heading back to court this morning. According to court documents, in 2010 Guzmangarza performed liposuction on a patient’s abdomen and an eye lift. The defendant picked up the victim at her house and drove her to his office on Mission Street for surgery, asked her to hold the IV bag for him during the procedure, and smoked a cigar while he performed surgery.

He’ll be appearing in court this morning for his preliminary hearing and bail argument.

A Mission soccer game led to a stabbing Monday afternoon. The SF Appeal reports that the “men were playing soccer around 1 p.m. Monday at a field near 25th and Harrison streets when they got into a fight.

“During the fight, the 25-year-old victim was stabbed in the thigh. He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for his injury, according to police.

“The suspect, believed to be around 30 years old, fled and had not been found as of this morning.”
