Artist Laura Campos needs your help. She’s painting a mural of the late Father Richard Purcell, who worked with homeless people with AIDS. Campos and videographer Nico Henderson put together a campaign asking for $2,000 to pay for art supplies, a protective coat for the mural and silkscreens to make shirts.
Purcell worked with the Papago and Pima Indian reservations in southern Arizona before moving to San Francisco in 1989 to care for his brother, Marty, who was dying of AIDS. After his brother died, Purcell started Marty’s Place, a ministry for homeless people with AIDS.

Thank you for bringing attention to this wonderful community project! Now I hope neighbors will donate a bit to help complete and preserve this mural.
