Santa Claus and his wife are at Mission Neighborhood Health Center, and if you can brave the long lines, you’ll get a chance to have your photo taken with them.

Volunteers for the clinic will be handing out free toys to children and giving away food and hot chocolate to clinic patients until approximately 3 p.m. today.

The clinic raises funds every year to put on the children’s Christmas party. Last year it distributed 1,200 toys, according to Ana O’Connor, the clinic’s chief operations officer.

“For some of these kids, this is the only toy they get,” O’Connor said.

Julia Ancco has been coming here for the last six years. Her 7-year-old, Kelvyn, proudly showed his newly acquired Lego box to anyone who asked. With him, 7-year-old Marlon Hernandez ran around with a Connect 4 game, and his brother, 4-year-old Oliver Hernandez, said he couldn’t wait to get home to play with his Play Doh.

“We’re patients at the clinic. It’s a beautiful event and we come to see Santa Claus,” Ancco said.
