At 3:38 this morning, police received a report of a robbery at 17th and South Van Ness streets. A 27-year-old man first asked a 27-year-old woman for money, which she declined to give him.
The suspect then punched the victim in the face and took her umbrella.
When police arrived on the scene, they located the suspect, arrested him and recovered the umbrella.
