The video was taken a little after midnight at the Frank Ogawa Plaza in downtown Oakland. The police fired tear gas canisters and flash grenades into a crowd to separate it from another group. A confrontation ensues but police never raid the camp. As the tear gas filled the air it became increasingly difficult to keep shooting.
Octavio Lopez Raygoza hails from Los Angeles. Lured by the nightlife, local eateries, and famous chilaquiles, Raygoza enjoys reporting in the Mission District. Although he settled in downtown San Francisco, he spends most of his time in the Mission.
