Today is Bank Transfer Day, which encourages people to switch from large banking institutions to credit unions. Since Sept. 29, 650,000 people have opened accounts at credit unions, more than in all of 2010. Mother Jones has a story about all the questions you might have about switching to a credit union. We’ll have a piece up later today on who in the Mission is making the change.
