A reader who works near the corner of 20th and Harrison streets sent us a tip about a bus that unintentionally ran over two dogs:

From what my co-workers and bystanders said, the lady had opened up
the door to her apt and the dogs ran out. She ran after them at the
same time the bus was turning the corner onto 20th from Harrison. The
dogs darted under the bus and one of them seemed to be instantly
killed, the other’s legs are broken.

These are neighborhood dogs who one of my co-workers who lives next to
Cafe Gratitude said last night she saw the owner walking them on
leashes and noticed them pulling and discussed various places he could
take them to get training to be more ‘city bred’ dogs.

The lesson is, keep your dogs leashed and be aware when they’re near the door.

“Sad day,” the reader wrote in an e-mail.
