At around 12:17 a.m. on Friday, a driver hit a fire hydrant on Valencia Street, near Duboce Avenue, spewing an unknown ammount of water before leaving the scene, police said.

The driver has not been found. It is unknown what caused the person to drive his Silver Chevrolet on the sidewalk and hit the hydrant, said Sgt. Michael Andraychack.

No further information has been released at this time.

At the Mission Mission blog, a witness said the whole block was flooded.
