It’s 6:52 a.m., 58° and headed to 66°. Seems like it’ll be a cool few days before it heats up again throughout the week. Details here.
Yesterday we mentioned some events going on this weekend, but one of our readers pointed out a couple more:
“1. Please remember that the memorial gathering for Eric Quezada is this Sunday, 9/25, 2-5 p.m., at Horace Mann Middle school!”
Indeed, the event tomorrow will include testimonials from friends and family, and some cultural performances from the Mission community.
“2. 518 Valencia is building an altar for Eric at their grand opening tomorrow, 9/24, 1-6 p.m. Eric was instrumental in getting this community space opened. Eric Quezada Presente!”
518 Valencia, the Eric Quezada Center for Culture & Politics, will be opening its doors today for the first time, with music, snacks, refreshments and a brief program beginning at 3 p.m. From the center’s website: “Within the span of this year, we hope to transform 518 Valencia into a fully accessible center for popular culture and education and make it available at low cost to organizations, community members and social movements in the Bay Area.”
Thanks, Tessa.
Happy weekend, everyone!
