It’s never easy to watch an ex having a good time.
When a suspect saw exactly that near Mission and 16th streets on Saturday at 10:42 p.m., he punched out his former girlfriend’s date, police reported.
When the 38-year-old suitor fell to the ground, the ex-boyfriend took the victim’s hat and then resumed punching him.
The suspect fled on foot and was later arrested.
The victim’s injuries, which were not life-threatening, included scratches to his neck and bruising to his head. It’s not known whether he got his hat back.
Earlier on Saturday, a 29-year-old man was robbed at 2:45 a.m. near 18th and South Van Ness.
The suspect approached from behind, pushed the victim to the ground, and put an unknown object to the his back. The suspect then went through the victim’s pockets, took his cellphone and cash, and fled the scene.
The victim was unable to give a detailed description of the suspect. So far, 10 phones have been reported stolen in the month of August.
Sunday: Don’t Mess with My Niece
A woman was stabbed on Sunday after trying to defend her niece on Maxwell Court in Valencia Gardens.
At 8 p.m., the 23-year-old victim noticed that two 18-year-old girls were taunting her niece, who was playing outside her house. When the aunt attempted to intervene, one of the suspects took out a pocket knife and stabbed the victim’s hand. The two suspects then fled on foot.
Friday
A 48-year-old man suffered a broken wrist after he was attacked by a man on Friday evening, according to police.
Shortly after 8 p.m., the victim was on Potrero Avenue near Cesar Chavez when the suspect approached and shoved the victim for no apparent reason. The suspect then turned and punched the victim, who fell to the ground.
The suspect then fled on foot, leaving the victim unconscious. The suspect, 40-year-old Josea Matavao, was subsequently arrested on charges of battery.
