For the third year in a row, Mission Loc@l hosted high school students from the Greenlining Institute for a day’s multimedia workshop.

Last week, Octavio Raygoza, Rachel Parker and Helene Goupil taught a group of seven high school students how to use video cameras, cameras and audio recorders to create videos and audio slideshows, and how to edit them.

We then hit the streets, equipment in hand, to interview people in the community about the digital divide.

  1. Teaching them how to use Excel, Word, PowerPoint, how to research topics online, etc. would do these kids a much much bigger favor than teaching how to shoot video and interview people….
