The Fourth of July weekend was a relatively calm one; only one major crime was reported.

At 3:40 p.m. on Sunday, July 3, a 20-year-old man pushed another man against a wall at 16th and Capp streets. The suspect brandished a knife and demanded money. The victim gave up his wallet and the suspect fled on foot.

In other news, various cars were broken into on Sunday (typically the most popular day for break-ins), and a group of activists took over a vacant former SRO hotel at Mission and 20th streets.
