A reader told Mission Local in an email that she and her neighbors had witnessed a suspicious man trying to fit a key into the doors of several residences at 16th and Sharon Street at around 8 o’clock this morning.
The reader was informed of this by a neighbor, who told her that the man had first tried to fit the key into the side door of her residence, then walked down the street trying the locks of multiple garage and apartment doors.
Police were called, but by the time they arrived the suspect had left.
“We don’t know if it was an opportunist trying doors, or a resident,” said Officer Albie Esparza.
The reader described the suspect as a man in his mid-30s driving an older model white Honda or Toyota. He had short brown hair and was wearing a dark blue jacket.
