The San Francisco Women’s Political Committee just announced that Mayor Ed Lee has launched an easily searchable citywide database of available positions on the city’s 4 million billion boards and commissions. They would like to call your attention to this because, they say, getting appointed to a board or commission is good practice for moving into higher political office, if that’s something you’re interested in.

Among the listed vacancies: the Health Authority, the Housing Authority, the Entertainment Commission, the Arts Commission, the Bicycle Advisory Committee, the Eastern Neighborhoods Citizens Advisory Committee.

If you’re interested in a specific position and you’re a lady, the SFWPC’s site recommends getting in touch with Benj Jurcisin at benj@sfwpc.org.

If you’re a guy? Hm. Tap into your guy hive mind that tells you how to do everything and get paid more than women do, I guess.
