Two men posing as police robbed a 17-year-old teenager Thursday on the 2000 block of Mission near 16th Street, according to police.
At 7:45 p.m. the victim was walking down Mission Street from 17th and asked one of the suspects for a light for his cigarette.
The suspect began harassing the victim, asking him if he would like to purchase narcotics. Uninterested, the victim began to walk away. That’s when a second suspect appeared and shoved him against a wall.
The suspects told the teenager that they were police and proceeded to search him and go through his pockets. They took the victim’s cash, pocket knife, and iPod before fleeing on foot.
The suspects were described as men in their thirties and forties in plain clothes. One was dressed in a blue button-down shirt. The other was in a blue button-down dress shirt and black slacks.
