Gas Station Robbery, 9:14 p.m. Wednesday

A man armed with a semi-automatic handgun robbed a gas station on Cesar Chavez near Hampshire, police reported.

The 21-year-old clerk on duty at the gas station told police that the suspect — in his late 20s or early 30s — entered the station’s convenience store, pointed a gun at him and demanded the cash.

The clerk complied. The suspect then took his cell phone, jumped into a 1980s-vintage pickup truck and drove off.

Less than 30 minutes later, at 24th and Mission streets, two males in their mid-20s and a female in her 30s approached a 40-year-old man. “Give me everything you have,” said one of the men.

The victim didn’t have much: just a cell phone.

The suspect then punched him in the face and fled. The victim was treated at St. Lukes Hospital for minor injuries.
