Giant fan posing with the first sterling silver trophy in 56 years.

Ever since the start of the Giants’ World Champions Trophy Tour in January, the trophy has had fans lined up where ever it goes. With its own tour bus, white-glove treatment and 24-hour security, the 20-pound, 24-inch sterling silver trophy made by Tiffany and Co. is an absolute baseball superstar.

“It has taken over our lives, in the best possible way,” said Missy Mikulecky, the Giants’ director of photography and archives, and one of the trophy’s primary caretakers. “People haven’t waited 56 years to see a player. It does not matter how old you are; the trophy resonates with everyone.”

The trophy’s many stops around California, New York and Arizona.

The trophy tour will wrap up on May 5 when the Giants play in New York, were the club was founded.
