Witnesses reported a fight around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday at Mission and 17th Street, where friends have been tending to a memorial for the 24-year-old victim of a fatal shooting early Saturday morning.
Two uniformed police officers stood near the memorial late Monday afternoon where a dozen or so friends of the victim were gathered, but there had not been any additional incidents, the officers said.
Two separate calls were made to the police Sunday night to report the fight, according to Sgt. Michael Andraychak. One call reported the fight, while another reported that a man with a gun was at the scene, but by the time police arrived, the armed suspect had fled.
Police briefly detained a few people involved in the fight, but no one was arrested, Andraychak said.
The victim, Aldo Troncoso, died at San Francisco General Hospital at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, two and a half hours after being shot at 17th and Mission.
In other weekend incidents, police arrested two men this morning in connection with a robbery on 16th and Hoff. At around 3 a.m. today, the 29-year-old victim was approached by two suspects who demanded his money. One suspect brandished a gun, and the victim complied.
The suspects also took a cell phone from the victim’s wallet and fled on foot. The men, ages 25 and 26, were later taken into custody by police.
A 25-year-old man suffered non-life-threatening stab wounds to his chest and arms after he was approached by several suspects on Saturday at 1:43 a.m., police said.
The victim was sitting inside a business on 16th and Mission when several suspects approached and asked him about the color of his shirt. The suspects then stabbed him multiple times without provocation.
The suspects fled on foot, and the victim was unable to offer any descriptions.
The stabbing is being investigated by the gang task force, said Sgt. Mike Andraychak. Although unable to give specifics on the color of the man’s shirt, Andraychak noted that certain gangs claim colors and territory.
It’s possible an individual may be confronted if wearing the wrong color in a gang’s territory.

Both my girlfriend and myself called the police last night but neither of us saw anyone with a gun. I saw a couple of people bust up 17th toward Valencia and another small group dart off into the taqueria.
