Around 1 p.m., seven Muni fare inspectors at the bus stop on 16th and Mission were ticketing passengers who dismounted without a proper pass.
One middle-aged Spanish-speaking woman who was ticketed said she didn’t realize her pass was no longer valid. Another Spanish-speaking man said he just didn’t pay for a bus pass today.
The fine for the violation is $75, according to a fare inspector at the scene.
I’m glad, I support this procedure 100%. I am an immigrant myself from a Spanish speaking country, but I respect the land that I call home now. Thank you officers for doing your job.
