A 17-year-old male was shot twice in the backside shortly after 11:00 p.m. on the corner of 26th and Shotwell Streets. The suspect fled the scene, and the victim was transported to a local hospital and treated for his non-life threatening wounds.
The victim was uncooperative, and would not provide any information about the suspect. Police plan to continue the investigation based on the information they have, and interviews with witnesses. The case is being investigated by the Gang Task Force, although, police add, this does not necessarily mean that the shooting was gang-related.

A 22-year-old woman was standing near her bike and talking on her cell phone when a man approached, pushed her aside, and rode away on her bicycle. The suspect was described as a male of unknown age and no arrests have been made. The theft happened at 22nd and South Van Ness around 6p.m.
The bicycle is described as a custom designed gun metal grey fixed gear. “SS Nina” is written in black marker down the side of the frame and a US Postal Service box is attached to a wooden rack on the front handle bars with a bungee cord. It is possible that someone has already began modifying the bike, according to Srgnt. Michael Andraychak.
The bike, which has no brand name or model number, has an estimated value of $4,000.
A 41-year-old man entered a store where a man approached him and, after a short struggle, took his wallet and ran off. Police arrested the mugger on Mission and 16th two blocks from the scene, at 8:30 p.m., and recovered the wallet.
A 23-year-old man was on the corner of Guerrero and 14th Street at 10:35 p.m. when he was suddenly bear hugged from behind by a man mumbling and brandishing a knife. The victim gave the suspect his wallet, at which point the suspect noticed the victim’s cell phone and told him he wanted that as well. The victim threw the cell phone on the ground and fled. No arrests have been made.
Monday 12/20/10
The two men were arguing on 24th Street near South Van Ness around 12:40 a.m, when one man stabbed the other in the calf with a box cutter. The victim was transported to a hospital and treated for his non-life threatening injury, and the suspect was subsequently arrested.
A 38-year-old man, was entering his front door around 2:30 a.m. today on 16th Street near Mission when two suspects approached him, pushed him to the ground, and struck him on the head with a metal pipe. The suspects took the victim’s cash and cell phone and then fled on foot. No arrests have been made and the suspects are described as a male and female, both around 25 years of age.

If her bike was worth $4000, why would she write her name in marker on the side? hmmm.
Why do you never mention the race of the perpetrators? “Suspect is described as male”.
How is that ever supposed to lead to an arrest?
Very stupid reporting.
Hi Mick,
We write these based on the police reports that the SFPD gives us. Sometimes they feature a pretty detailed description of the suspect, sometimes they don’t. Based on my understanding of it, through conversations with the SFPD, the times when they don’t give us a detailed description are when a) when the victim and witnesses literally can’t give a coherent description of the suspect or b) they feel that they already have a good idea of who did it, and don’t need people calling into the station with suggestions.
In the last item, it reads: No arrests have been made and the victims are described as a male and female, both around 25 years of age.
I think you mean to say “the assailants” or “the suspects” instead of “the victims” in that instance.
Thanks!
Yes, you’re right. It has been corrected.
Thanks Kevin!
