According to Sanchez’s friend Katia Fuentes, Sanchez passed away in his sleep early Monday morning.
Sanchez’s work can be found all over the the Mission, including the walls surrounding Project Artaud, where he lived for 20 years.
Today is the last day of his show at Artillery Gallery on 2751 Mission Street (between 23rd and 24th).
Details about funeral arrangements or memorials haven’t been released yet. We’ll pass along more information when we receive it.
