More than 100 people participated Saturday in the second annual Tech Search Party — a smart phone scavenger hunt to benefit public schools in San Francisco. Guided by the glowing screens of their iPhones and Blackberrys and a healthy competitive spirit, teams scoured the streets of Noe Valley in search of answers posted at mystery locations. The event was sponsored by Google, Salesforce, local businesses and District 8 supervisor candidates. It raised more than $16,000 for technology improvement at Alvarado Elementary School, James Lick Middle School, Marshall Elementary School and Harvey Milk Civil Rights Academy.
