When the polls closed at 8 p.m. Tuesday night, Jane Kim led the other 13 candidates on the ballot for San Francisco District 6 supervisor. As precincts continued to report results, Kim maintained a strong lead and her party, held at Public Works on Erie Street, was quickly dubbed a victory celebration.

Well over a hundred people, including her supporters, campaign staff and family, celebrated with her Tuesday night. The atmosphere was lively, and the revelry continued late into the night after a series of speeches gave way to a serenade from a longtime supporter. A disco ball, full bar and security at the door gave Kim’s victory party the look and feel of a hip San Francisco nightclub.
