The Supreme Court refused to review a lawsuit filed by the Golden Gate Restaurant Association, which means that the GGRA has lost, and Healthy San Francisco can continue.

In a brief filed in the court in May, the U.S. Solicitor General’s Office argued that since most larger businesses will be required to offer health coverage or healthcare subsidies to their workers in 2014, the GGRA’s case against Healthy SF, regardless of any soundness it might have now, will be invalid soon enough.

According to The San Francisco Chronicle, Healthy San Francisco will continue to operate even after 2014, since the federal health care plan does not cover undocumented immigrants.
