Miriam Delgado, a 15-year-old middle school student with a shy smile, has been missing since Friday, police said.
Delgado attends Francisco Middle School on Powell Street, but police said that she lives with her parents in the Mission District.
Missing notices were posted up and down 24th Street asking for help.
Delgado, who is described on the posters as 4′ 10″ and 90 pounds went to school on Friday and as far as police know she stayed through the day, Officer Chen said.
Chen said there were no suspicious circumstances and that she appears to have “left on her own recognizance.” He declined, however, to call her a runaway.
She was last seen wearing a black shirt and blue jeans, police said.
