A cyclist was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after an accident involving a bicycle and a car on 23rd and Valencia streets on Monday afternoon, according to police.
Officers arrived at the scene shortly after receiving a call at 5:58 p.m. According to police the cyclist was conscious and breathing when paramedics arrived. The owners of the Nissan Altima, who appeared to be a couple, were at the scene and were interviewed by police. The case is under investigation to determine who is at fault.

As an SF bicycle accident attorney, I have to say that the vast majority of my cases are left turn cases, where the motorist just makes the left directly in front of the cyclist, thereby almost always injuring the cyclist. While many bikers cite fear of getting hit from behind as their number one concern, the biggest hazard to bicyclists here in SF is the car driver who makes their left turn right into the bicyclist. Second to that, I would have to say that red light runners hurt the most bicycle riders.
Thank you for your comment, it was very informative and good to know as a cyclist myself.
The cyclist was northbound on Valencia and the car southbound, both had green lights. The car made a wide left turn onto 23rd and hit the cyclist as he was crossing the southern east to west yellow zebra style crosswalk. Cyclist was going about 20 mph proceeding through a green light and was hit on his left side and thrown off of his bike.
Not surprising given how cyclists break all the traffic laws like going against the red light and blowing through all the stop signs.
Yep not surprising with all the cyclist retards.
Not surprising. Drivers on Valencia are completely oblivious. I had 3 or 4 near misses just yesterday.
