It turns out 14th and Mission is no place to hang out on a Saturday night. Police reported a stabbing left one in the hospital with non life-threatening wounds–it’s not yet clear what the scuffle was all about.

Need a way to keep track of all this crime? Well, in case you missed it, Gavin Newsom’s got it. Where? The Digital App Showcase, of course. Be it cab-spotting, real time BART schedules, or finding out the health score of your favorite divey restaurant; the city of San Francisco is showing it’s cell phone friendly, well at least iPhone friendly, that is.

Crime and food. SF Weekly makes me think maybe it should be a crime to eat all this greasy deliciousness. Their slide show “Eight Common Fast Foods That’ll Hasten Death,” is enough to give you a heart attack just looking at it. All I can say is those 2900 calorie cheesy fries better be worth the trip to the ER.

While gorging yourself on fast food burgers and ice cream sundays isn’t yet a crime, it might be for all you bluegrass fans to miss the FREE  Barefoot Nellies show at Amnesia tonight.

If bluegrass doesn’t do it for you, maybe this will: Check out this  perspective of life growing up in the Mission District played out on the side of one man’s head. Thank you to www.whatimseeing.com.

For another perspective, let’s look to the New York Times. Yes, it’s true, times they are a changing, and Gap’s co-founder, Donald G. Fisher, has left us for a better place. Fisher opened the San Francisco clothing giant in 1969. His legacy: over 3,000 stores in 25 countries, and some $14.5 billion in revenue 2008 alone.
