Our feature on Latin Bridal is here
Depending on how much you love your job your weekend may have just gotten better. Late yesterday BART train operators and station agents announced they will go on strike beginning Sunday at midnight, leaving many without their usual means of commuting to work. But lucky for us SFGate’s Green blogger Cameron Scott has already mapped out alternate forms of transportation including transbay lines, ride shares, and the ferry.
And if you think the strike is a bluff SFist has a video to helps us remember the 1997 strike that lasted a week.
Moving on buyers beware! The chronicle reports police have identified an ongoing scam by con artists who are selling fake electronics. They call it the Latino Lotto because practitioners prey on elderly Latino immigrants in the Mission District. In one case an elderly victim lost $20,000.
On a much brighter note the Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts will have an opening reception at 7p.m. tonight for their new art exhibit titled Myths, Bricks, Prints. Mission Loc@l will be there.
For more events happening this weekend check out Mission Local’s weekender available later today.
