Police report a stabbing victim was found lying on the sidewalk in life threatening condition near 20th and Valencia streets at 5:48 a.m. on Saturday morning. The victim, a male of unknown age, was transported to San Francisco General Hospital to treat his multiple stab wounds, but there was no sign of a suspect and no information about how the crime occurred.

Four Robberies

Later on Saturday morning, at around 9:45 a.m., a 43-year-old man entered a store on Mission Street between 15th and 16th streets. He grabbed a bottle of water and walked out, but a 43-year-old woman ran after him and confronted him for not paying for the water. The suspect threw the bottle at the victim, and then punched her in the face, leaving her with swelling and a scratch to her cheek and a swollen clavicle. The victim declined medical attention, and the suspect was arrested as he tried to flee the scene.

Just before 1 p.m. the same day, at 24th and Folsom streets, a 41-year-old man was asked by a second man to buy him a beer. The victim refused, at which point the suspect hit him from behind with an unknown wooden object. The suspect took the man’s cell phone and cash before fleeing the scene, leaving the victim with pain in the back of his head that prompted transportation to San Francisco General Hospital. No arrests were made.

Saturday evening, at 9:44 p.m., two men, a 37-year-old and a 43-year-old, were approached by three men in their twenties on Alabama Street between 24th and 25th streets. The first brandished a stick, and demanded the men’s property. When that didn’t work, the suspect brandished a handgun, and the second suspect pulled out a knife. The victims emptied their pockets, and the three suspects fled on foot. No arrests were made.

Sunday at just before 4 p.m., a 21-year-old man was on his phone on 16th between Valencia and Guerrero streets when two men in their twenties approached him. One suspect put the man in a bear hug while the other threatened to cut the victim with a knife. The victim managed to break out of the suspect’s hold, but as the two struggled on the ground, the suspects managed to get the victim’s backpack, containing cooking knives, from him and fled westbound on 16th Street. The man was uninjured, and no arrests were made.

  1. I’ve been meaning to ask for a while, why did you bury your Trouble section, so that you can no longer get to it from your home page? Thanks.

    1. We have been trying to bring in new projects in that space on top of the page, and there’s only so much room on the top bar. But it’s becoming clear that the Trouble section was quite popular, so we’ll have to think about this. Thanks for the note.
