Police report that there was a robbery, a car-jacking, a stabbing, and a home burglary in the Mission this weekend. One man lost his Lexus. One grocery store lost a bag of shrimp.
Early Friday morning, a 27-year-old Hill Street resident woke up in the middle of the night to find that his apartment had been broken into. His bicycle, laptop, and Apple Watch had disappeared.
Foods Co on Folsom and 16th Street saw a robbery with force leaving one injured, one arrested, and a bag of shrimp pilfered. The incident occurred at 5:50 p.m. when a 36-year-old man entered the grocery store and grabbed a bag of shrimp and left without paying. A 30-year-old employee approached the suspect who then returned into the store, charging at the employee and another 48-year-old man, who both fell to the ground. Police arrived on scene and arrested the suspect.
Police officers at 18th and Castro observed a fight early Saturday morning between a 28-year-old and 38-year-old man. Upon detaining the two men, the older one stated that the younger man had attempted to stab him and he showed officers cuts to his thighs and hands. Police took the 28-year-old man into custody.
A 33-year-old man walking to his Lexus parked near 18th and Valencia around 3:15 a.m. Sunday was interrupted by a stranger who came up behind him. The stranger shoved his fist into the man’s back and demanded he hand over his keys. The man complied and the suspect took off with the car, a silver Lexus LS400.
