Three men were hospitalized early Friday after being shot on 16th Street near Valencia Street, according to San Francisco police.

Police said that one victim suffered life-threatening injuries after being shot in the upper body and abdomen. The other two victims are in non-life threatening condition; one suffered gunshot wounds to the lower leg and the other sustained a graze wound to the calf.

Authorities said that a suspect approached a group of people standing outside a bar at 1:30 a.m. Friday and pulled out a handgun. The suspect fired several times and fled on foot toward 15th Street.

Police described the suspect as a man with a medium build, 6 feet 1 inch tall, between the ages of 25 and 30. He was seen wearing a white shirt, a white bandana and dark pants, according to Officer Carlos Manfredi.

All three victims were sent to San Francisco General Hospital.

  1. Great thread. Lets get all worked up and make nothing happen. David Campos needs to do something. He is an absolute failure to take any action and same goes for mission police. Stop posting here and start sending emails to Ed Le demanding action in the mission and send a message to Campos to either deal with real issues or step aside so someone who is not ineffectual can.

  2. Are they not allowed to give out the nationality of suspects any more? So, we’re just to be on the lookout for any tall man aged 25-30 in a white shirt and jeans?

    1. Oh yeah, sorry. He was Austrian.

I hope this illustrates how “nationality” has nothing to do with it.

      1. I have to agree with above… what are we looking for; white, black, asian, martian? It’s not race baiting… it’s called DESCRIPTION!

  3. why does the article say “near Valencia street” when it was near Guerrero? Is it because Valencia is the better known street to those not from the Mission? If so, that kind of fear-mongering is unappreciated.

  5. It happened in front of Double Dutch, near Guerrero. The third victim was hit on the hand by a ricochet, from what I saw being treated and heard from police at the scene. I doubt the 3 victims knew each other. Thanks for posting this story up, I was afraid it would go unnoticed, like many crimes seem to in the Mission these days.

    1. Thanks for posting this, i too was afraid it would go unnoticed due to the other shooting and subsequent car chase that happened later down the street. I don’t know if those guys at dutch knew each other, but there had been some drama involving a couple of young folks posturing and acting all hard for no reason, looked like it was escalating @ 1 am, but seemed like the bouncer had it covered. He’s a good guy, like the rest of the folks that work there. Too bad.

      1. The only thing I don’t understand is if there so many bars around this area how come every time something happen it’s in front of Double Dutch? If you guys forgot last year a guy got shot in the face at the same spot in front of the same bar (Double Dutch). So I’m wondering when will be the next time? tonight? or maybe tomorrow? or next weekend? Every weekend something happen outside this bar, I think it’s about time to close down this stupid bar, it bring only troubles to this neighborhood.

        1. Yes, please, please, please let’s find a way to shut down this bar. Does anyone know how we go about this? File something with the City?

We live very nearby and remember the shooting last year.

What is going on there is completely unacceptable.

          1. Yeah, we need to get all these bars in the Mission closed down, they’re nothing but trouble.

      1. Or what…I saw your friend, too. So sorry. I believe Double Dutch should have it’s card pulled and I believe the comment below from Missionresident is a fake by the bouncer or owner trying to play CYA. I watched them yelling in the door “CALL 911!!!!’ a good 5 minutes after we already did. The bar is a magnet for nubangers with no honor – I see them all the time. I could get myself killed there most weekend nights within a few minutes if I was so inclined. The endless cackling and puking and screaming and breaking bottles at closing time by the ‘patrons’ is somewhat tolerable, but I’m tired of the bodies. Time for DD to think about packin up and kicking rocks, no?
