Just Sad….You Use To Have To Worry About Wearing The Wrong Colors In The Mission But Now You Just Get ROBBED For A Phone….People Try Getting A Job….KARMA KARMA KARMA Wait Til It’s A Family Member….
Once again Supervisor Campos is very quiet about the increase in the daily violence in District 9. Instead he’s out pandering to get money for the taco lady who probably broke every health code in the book. What a schmuck!
Yeah, screw those stupid victims, they deserved it. Keep the Mission unsafe! Tech workers deserve to be mugged and assaulted, they are asking for it since they came into our neighborhood! These aren’t criminals, they’re modern day Robin Hoods, taking from the white rich tech workers to give to the poor!
They need to really pass the kill switch to these cell phones making them a paper weight and un sellable. they did it in Australia and cellphone theft is down 90% due to the fact they will be useless if stolen. But that’s not good for big cell companies and the resale of the refurbed phones therefore the FCC has fought to keep things the way they are even at the expense of peoples safety. profit before people as usual
Locals (10 years+) would NEVER walk around the Mission at 3:00am talking on iPhones! How stupid!
Locals know not to do certain things but I guess when people are stuck living segregated lives they forget not everyone is as care free as them and if you see a group of people at 3 in the morning knowing full well not to much good is going on at that time prepare yourself a lot people is making themselves victims just from being unaware of their circumstances
Last night On Sunday at about 8pm there was a shooting on 24th street in the alley between Capp st. and Mission st. The police had it taped off for about an hour but I haven’t seen any thing about this.
Hi sfc: We’ve checked with the police, and they don’t have a record of a shooting last night in that area. Do you have any more details about it? Thanks, ML
I was at 24th and Mission on Sunday night as well and heard shots around 9pm (I thought there were 7). I was on the second story of a building but looked and saw people running. A few minutes later the police came and taped off the street behind the McDonalds – I was wondering what was going on as well. I tried looking it up but hadn’t seen anything online about it.
On the police scanner last night, the cops said the shooting was at 24th and Lilac. They cleared the crime scene after only about an hour; suggesting no-one was hit. The cops said on the scanner that witnesses said the shooters left in a white van; and other witnesses said the victims were in the white van and the shooters ran away on foot. All the cops in the district then converged on some poor unlucky person in a white van at 20th/Treat, but it didn’t sound like they arrested anyone. Just after the shooting, another cop called over the scanner for an ambulance for an unrelated person in the same area who had fallen, or been in a fight – confusing the scene even more. It’s curious they would deny outright the shooting they responded to and investigated for an hour – on the air for all to hear.

6 shots were fired at about 9:15pm, the shells were found right at the entrance to Lilac (an alley) and 24th. I saw the white van speeding away and reported it to the police, it was a Ford Econoline or something similar, with a refrigeration unit on top. No victim was found, at least while I was there talking to the cops. I also saw the people running away, but I didn’t get a good look, someone else reported on that.
So that’s what that was. I knew something was up from all the sirens and I thought I heard shots (but it being this week, I was hoping I was mistaken and it was fireworks).
Gunshots in the Mission have always been . Its the flavor of MISSION , gangs, crime, that’s why we like it until the techies moved in . All the crime is happening between the haves and have nots.
Too good to be a troll, going off of her previous posts. Let me guess: white vaguely new age artist, living in a rent controlled apartment.
Probably has always voted for policies that keep her rent low by making the cost of entry high for newcomers. Doesn’t realize this is why it seems like those damned techies are the only people that can afford to move here.
Believes that as a white person throwing away her privilege to become an artist puts her on the same page as people who never had a choice to begin with.
Thinks crime is cool and gritty as long as it happens to somebody else. Gets excited by stories about ‘techies’ getting robbed, doesn’t care that almost all violent crime going on in the neighborhood is brown-on-brown.
Ben, that was dead on!
Troll.
Thanks we’ll check on this. Helene
I see the local criminals were busy enjoying Pride weekend.
